Z Engine is Ideazon’s configuration and driver software for its gaming peripherals, including the Zboard, MERC keyboards, and the Fang gamepad. It centralizes device setup, key remapping, and macro creation, enabling players to tailor layouts for individual games and applications. Z Engine includes a large library of game-specific profiles and can automatically load the correct layout when a supported title launches. Users can build and share custom profiles, assign complex key sequences with adjustable delays, and switch layouts on the fly via a lightweight system tray utility. The software also handles firmware updates and keeps devices current.
Designed for Windows PCs, Z Engine runs quietly in the background and gives Ideazon hardware a plug-and-play feel with deep customization for FPS, MMO, and RTS titles alike. It’s an essential companion for Zboard owners, whether you use the standard keyset or game-specific keysets. Following Ideazon’s acquisition by SteelSeries, support transitioned to SteelSeries Engine; some legacy Ideazon devices may still require Z Engine for full functionality.
